For three decades the Gympie Music Muster has been entertaining Australians. Thousands of festival goers are attracted every year by the diverse programs rich with our country’s finest musicians in a bush setting. Enjoy a weekend of music and indulgence at the Dingo Creek Wine, Jazz and Blues Festival, or for those with a different appreciation of music try the Mitchell Creeks Rock and Blues Festival or relax at Kenilworth Celebrates listening to fabulous bush poetry.
Gympie’s historical roots as the town that saved Queensland in the gold rush era are celebrated during October’s Gold Fever Festival which this year highlights the involvement of the Chinese in Gympie’s diverse history and culminates in the colourful parade down Mary Street. Mary Valley’s prestigious Art Festival, now into its 14th year attracts hundreds of entries from artists throughout South East Queensland. Art festivals are also held in Gympie during the Gold Rush Festival and in Rainbow Beach.
A number of world-class events occur throughout the year including the Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic in July, the International Rally of Queensland—held in the forests of the Mary Valley—serves up some gravel spinning action in July. Another international event held in the forests of the Mary Valley is the Far A Way Endurance Horse Ride at Easter each year. Travel through scenic country along with thousands in Kilkivan’s Great Horse Ride or spend leisurely days viewing short films at Gympie’s International Heart of Gold Film Festival.
Join in our celebrations of all things delicious at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival , Gympie’s Flavour Fest or Kenilworth’s Wine and Cheese Festival.
