Coastcare groups were formed at Tin Can Bay & Rainbow Beach in the mid '90's when Foreshore Management Plans were developed for the area with Cooloola Shire Council. The Foreshore Management Plans have resulted in ongoing community input to Council for the enviromentally sustainable & inclusive management of our coastal natural assest- the surf beach & Tin Can Bay Inlet foreshores. Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach situated in the Great Sandy Straits is part of a Ramear Wetland of international importance.
